Cake Smash photography sessions are a fun and unique way to mark the milestone of your little one’s first birthday. My natural and timeless photography style allows us to truly celebrate everything about your little one at this age.
Two of my passions in life are celebrating birthdays and eating cake! As you can imagine this session is one of my favourites and I adore working with you to capture this special time!

* Please note, your booking fee/deposit is non-refundable, but is transferable to another date if rearranged within 48 hours of your current booked session date. If your child is feeling under the weather then please notify me at your earliest opportunity so I can cancel cake and re-schedule to another day when your child is well and happy.

1: Preparation
Set up the home studio for the Cake Smash photography session, ensuring all equipment and props are ready.
2: Portrait Images
Begin the session by taking portrait images using ONE letters, capturing the child in various poses and expressions.
3: Cake Smash
Transition to the main event of the session, the Cake Smash. Present the cake to the child and capture their excitement as they see, explore, and smash the cake. Encourage interaction with the cake using props like a wooden spoon if the child is hesitant to eat it.
4: Bath Time Fun
Conclude the session with fun photos in a luxury roll top bath, allowing for additional beautiful images and ensuring a memorable experience for the child.
Wall Art
I ask all of my clients to think about where in your home you would love to display your photos. Have you got an empty wall in need of some colour and homeliness? Let’s complete that empty space with a custom designed individual piece of collection of wall art for your family.
I have lots of beautiful products and albums available and can discuss this at your photography session in more detail.

What about the cake?
A beautiful personalised cake is included complimentary in the cake smash session as a gift from me
The cake is produced by Zara Cakes who is a professional cake maker with up to date food safety certification and is fully insured for your peace of mind.

What should my little one wear?
For the birthday portraits section of the session I recommend dressing your baby in white or a neutral outfit.
I do have a range of cakesmash outfits however should you wish to supply your own I recommend an outfit with their legs and arms uncovered. At this age, it is very cute to capture any little leg rolls and to see their hands and feet covered in cake!
Please bear in mind that cake smash sessions can sometimes get very messy and even the parents might end up wearing a little cake depending on how much fun your baby has making a happy mess.
When will I see my images?
Approximately 1-2 weeks after your session you will come back to the studio for your Viewing Appointment. You will see your images for the first time via a music slideshow on screen in the studio.
How do I book?
Simply get in touch using the form below. A £99 non-refundable deposit secures your date and a further £99 is payable on the day of session for the minimum love package.
At your viewing appointment you can then choose a package to upgrade to and pick out any wall art or printed products.

I’ve used Jodie for the past few years for a range of different events. She’s photographed 2 newborns, 2 cakesmash, 2 christenings, 1 maternity shoot, a wedding and a family session for our family and I can honestly say I wouldn’t recommend anyone else.
We have just had our 4th Christmas photo shoot and again Jodie was so patient with the kids. We have 4 so you can image how hard it is for her trying to capture images where they are all looking! She has plenty of tricks up her sleeve though to catch the little ones attention!
