This photo-shoot is best suited for babies between 7 and 10 months, who can confidently sit up unsupported.
A baby’s first year goes by so quickly and is filled with lots of milestone moments. A sitter photography session is a celebration of when your older baby is able to sit upright, unaided and may be close to crawling, but are not yet able to walk.
This session is all about capturing your baby’s genuine expressions when they smile, giggle and their proud little face when they realise they have learnt to sit up by themselves.
Their tiny hands, feet, dimples and curls… All their beautiful details that makes them yours that will continue to grow and change.

Rest assured, the studio is easily accessible. Located in New Moston, close to surrounding areas of Failsworth, Oldham, Manchester, Bury, Prestwich, Ashton, Stockport and is only a few minutes from the M60

My beautiful home studio has FREE visitor parking right outside the house, making it really easy to access.

Session
Your family session will last up to 1 hour. I am all about capturing your family bond and connection – therefore, I merely give gentle direction, rather than staged posing, so there is absolutely nothing to worry about.
Pricing
A £50 booking fee/deposit is required at the time of booking in order to secure your little sitter photoshoot in my diary.
* The minimum Love package is to be purchased/paid for on the day of session.
* Your booking fee/deposit/voucher will be deducted from your chosen package.
* You have the option to upgrade your package at your viewing session if you wish.
* Should there be more images in our final gallery on the viewing day, they are available for purchase at £30 per digital file.
* Please note, your booking fee/deposit/voucher is non-refundable, but is transferable to another date if rearranged within 48 hours of your current booked session date.
All of the images are printed onto the best quality paper. In addition to the prints you receive within your chosen package, you can order additional prints of your favourite photos. We offer professional grade prints as standard.
Your digital images have been handled and refined in my signature style presented in high resolution. The digital file collections all include printing rights.
I understand that having the flexibility of buying the digital files allows you to produce prints, enlargements and albums. However, I firmly believe that the beautiful images we are going to create deserve to be displayed using only the best quality products.

Your Questions
When should I book my session?
I recommend booking your little sitter session around 7-9 months old. When they are sitting sturdy, un-aided and not wobbly. Ideally not crawing so they are still nice and still and we can capture their beautiful features and character.
It is always best to book in advance if you can to guarantee my availability. However, we do have more flexibility with these sessions compared to newborn so do give me a call to discuss.
How do I book?
Simply get in touch using the form here. A £50 non-refundable booking fee/deposit secures your date. The minimum love package is payable on the day of your session. The booking fee/deposit will be deducted from the love package.
At your viewing appointment you can then select and choose to upgrade your package and purchase any wall art or printed products you would love to have as keepsakes.
How long is the shoot going to take?
A Little Sitter session usually takes up to one hour. This includes feeding, settling and changing outfits. Some sessions can last longer (for example, twins or when we have a very unsettled child). For this reason, I only book one session per day. Due to the fact children can sense our mood, I never rush the shoot so please do not plan anything else on the day. Little one’s cannot be rushed and sometimes some extra time is needed. Patience is the key to a great photo session.
Can siblings come too?
Of course! I encourage the parents and siblings to participate in the session. Previous clients with siblings have found it works best if we start the session with the family/sibling photos and then grandparents/family can take them home or to nursery/school, leaving us to relax and capture your little one on their own.
Where is the studio?
My home studio is located in New Moston, on the outskirts of Oldham/Manchester (we’re conveniently right in the middle). The studio is easily accessible from M60 with lots of parking available.
My home from home studio has a quiet and tranquil setting to provide my clients with a relaxed photography portrait experience.
What about safety?
At Jodie Wellings Photography, I make safety and comfort of your child an absolute priority. I practice safe posing techniques and there is always a supporting hand on or very close to your child during the session. I am completely child-led and no poses are ever forced, and if your little one doesn’t feel comfortable in any of them, I move on to the next.
How do I have to prepare on the morning of my session?
Upon booking, you will be sent this information.
What shall I bring with me to session?
I usually have plenty of hot and cold drinks available. However, I would suggest that you bring along some food, especially if mum is still breast feeding. Plenty of milk for baby if not breast feeding. If your baby takes a dummy: bring it with you. Feel free to bring along anything personal you would like photographing with your little one – a favourite teddy, personalised wooden toy etc.
Do I have to buy a package?
The minimum Love Package is to be purchased/paid for on the day of session. Booking fee/deposit paid will be deducted from the package price.
When will I see my images?
Approx 1-2 weeks after your photoshoot, you will come back to the studio for your Viewing Appointment. You will see your images for the first time via a music slideshow.
What if my child doesn't cooperate on the day?
Little one’s can be unpredictable at times, for this reason, I only schedule one session a day so that both you and your baby have my undivided attention and care.
My little sitter portrait experience is designed to be relaxed and baby-led. If you need to feed or change baby, then that’s what we do. We don’t rush, we go with the flow, until you are happy and create those much wanted forever memories.
